On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, the “LC” wireless network will be turned off and “eduroam” will be the primary wireless network available to the campus community. A new wireless network, “pards,” will be available for gaming and streaming media devices. These changes will enhance the security of our wireless networks.
Personal devices like computers, mobile phones, and tablets currently connecting to the “LC” wireless network should connect to the “eduroam” wireless network when used on the Lafayette campus. How To Connect to the Network
Gaming and streaming media devices like an XBox, PS4, Google Home, Alexa, Roku, or Apple TV that are already registered with the “LC” network need to connect to the hidden “pards” wireless network, which will be available beginning Monday, January 4, 2021. See the “How to Connect to the Pards Network” section of the Device Registration webpage.
For devices (e.g., computers, mobile phones) already connecting to the “eduroam” wireless network, nothing needs to be done.
